He has a Echo saw and two blowers also up for auction . 1 neg feed back Saw is a genuine 394 . Having had a few I can tell . He does state in the listing that he was messed about by a winning bidder who did not collect and pay . 394 is getting on a bit now ( although that one looks very clean ) I would not pay much more than the £260 it is at now especially with no bar and chain .

I think you can tell the age from the serial number my 254xp starts with a 7 so thats 1997, the serial no on the 394xp I think is 3010395 so 1993?. nice saw though. How you "loose" the bar and chain I am not so sure lol!

I believe you are right there. The different decades have a different colour plates too...so I read anyway.Never actually bothered to check though!

I was interested in 394 with a 30" bar, on ebay...but buy it now of £435 for a 20 year old saw seems a bit steep to me :sneaky2:

Its our Husky 394XP 30 inch you are looking at and yes I agree that its plenty of money but firstly we have to give £72.50 to the vat man out of the selling price and secondly we have to ensure what we sell is fit for purpose and in good working order and that all adds to the costs. We purchase all our machinery from known reliable sources. Used big saws are getting very scarce so the used value of them is going up, and this may make the older ones look expensive; its just supply and demand.

I sell my arb gear on arbtulk only and all ways prefer pickup but also post but when you pick up you can see it start and run and see my workshop so you know my gear is clean and all above bord

Harry, fair play for the reply,

It may well be fine, just when I'm told no way I can look at it first and theres no collection.. it just raise the eyebrows.

I wouldn't buy a saw I've not seen from someone I don't know.

All the best with the sale.
