Just to put a different spin on things, if people are reluctant to buy larger houses in the next year or so, thus increasing their mortgages, and stay where they are, then they may just wish to spend more money on the property and grounds that they already have, to make it more desirable when they do decide to sell.

Nexy year should be a good year here, finance deals will be paid off, a major advertising campaign is planned and we have a large contract for a property developer that should come off fingers crossed. The trouble is with this job your selling yourself so unless you diversify big bucks will never be coming our way :(
