Just a quick one, which do you thing is better for a retrievable anchor, rope guide or pulley saver

bought a ART adjustable cambium saver with pulley a while back, its awesome but to be honest most of the time just a basic ringed cambium saver is what I use

I have to agree, basic ring cambium saver, installation from the ground and then retreval is quick and simple. Although I now prefer my Teufelberger pulley saver and have retreved it on occassion...

I prefer the rope guide. The pulley saver binds up really tight when you need to adjust it. Not a major issue, but an extra annoyance that the rope guide doesn't give me.

I've got a small video to put up soon from a couple years back, but it's a scary thought to think I did a whole crane job with the central pin missing out the cam of my Art rope guide

 

I thought it had happened when retrieving it from taking out the last section but when I watched the footage back and see it missing when I put it in I went as white as a ghost!!

 

Pulley saver for me hands down

You can improve the cambium saver by adding a petzl fixe(or similar) to the small ring with a mallion rapide pear

I went from a pulley saver back to using a mutisaver as I found that having no friction whatsoever tended to make my friction hitch lock up/incinerate it quite quickly. I think the weight of the climber is an important factor and its less of an issue for the lighter climbers. I weigh around 15 stone and prefer slightly more friction in the system as found my equipment works better. That said I pretty much only climb SRT now (yes I know...yawn!) so friction saver is not needed.

They both do exactly the same job and the quality is comparable but the Pulley Saver is cheaper.

I'd buy the Pulley Saver.
