Leaning Pine removal - Negative rigging.

Had to take out a leaning Pine tree yesterday as it had shifted in the winds and pitched towards the road. The root plate was cracking and lifting and threatening to fail.

The tree officer had checked the tree and recommended it be removed asap. We had an early start and pieces the crown out by hand so not to damage the neighbour tree and phone lines. All work was done from a 29m platform. I know MEWPs aren't every ones cup of tea, but it was on site, so why not use it.

Once the crown was out I rigged the timber to avoid damage to the road and the clients wall.

We also did a leaning Leylandii of similar nature in the after noon.

Anyway, some pics, and a short video. I am trying to get to grips with the GoPro editing suite, so bear with me.

Good work Rich. What setting do you have the gopro on? Do some settings give less of the fish eye effect or not?

Mine is set on 1080 30fps W. Also I have the time lapse setup to take a snap shot every 60 seconds whilst it is filming.

The settings can be fiddled with a lot.

Do you think the setting in the clips has a lot of fish eye effect?

Good job lowering around the boom there Rich.

Just subscribed to you on Utube aswell.

The big guy on the pads at the gym isn't to be messed with, was he once a skinny ninja?

Cheers mate. As for the guy in your question... I couldn't possible comment as he would beat the b'jeezuz outta me.
