Why wont they except Lantra, Lantra & NPTC training is the industry standard for proving competence ?

I've just sat through three days of chainsaw refresher training. CS 30,31,32. I asked if this would be accepted by FISA and i was told it would be.

Can we take it from this that you didn't feel it was worth while?

From what I've heard the FISA approved training can be pretty hit or miss - some good, some bad.

Not really.

I perhaps keep up on legislation more than most so nothing new there really.

Everything on my cutting was fine. Didn't like my hinge feathering rather than cutting ears off. Other than that i knew it all.

The thing that really got my back up was how basically saying if your saw isn't caliper sharpened its wrong. Just had 3 guys do CS30/31 in the last 2 years one did their test in January. They were never asked to caliper sharpen on the test 2 not even shown it on the course. Also two of them also feather the hinge like me rather than cut lumps off. How can they get a pass when you refresh you have to do it this way.
