What effect would scottish independence have on the UK tree industry?

It was indeed Connelly that said that!

I feel I have to say, that if you think a yearning for independence is down to Alex salmond, you are mistaken, we can have independence and a tory(Scottish government) if we like.

There are many reasons, some right some wrong.

Westminster? Might as well be Cairo! We are different countries, economically, geologically, we also feel strongly about our identity, west minster offers very little!

Still undecided😳

Ye and don't expect much of a voice in Europe that is if an independent Scotland got in. And what voice would we have on a global scale?? I cant see us having Scottish embassy's across the globe promoting Scottish businesses. There might be many flaws with the UK but it kicks well above its weight on the global political arena

This is the narrative your being spoonfed by the the SNP.......

Why is it the SNP chooses to define Scottish people and Scotland by what is different about them when compared to the English instead of what unites us?

the answer is simple, the SNP are divisive, narrow minded, short sighted nationalists who want to drive a wedge between Scotland and the rest of the UK so they can fulfil their immature fantasies of being big fish in a small pond. President Salmond? - no thanks.

It was also Billy Connelly who said he feels he has more in common with a shipyard worker in Liverpool than a farmer in the highlands.

I hope and assume you actually mean the UK, and as it happens on the world stage the UK actually does punch well above it's weight.

There's just as much nationalist sentiment in Wales or Northern Ireland but up until now these two regions by and large have the wit to realise that either on their own wouldn't have the clout to influence anything or anybody.

There's no doubt that the departure of Scotland would definitely weaken the United Kingdom to some degree but what Scotland itself would loose by ceasing to be part of the UK would be much much greater.

I think we have no idea what will happen, can it be worse than the status quo.
