forgot to put in I don't do tree surgery landscape gardening or sawmilling just firewood I look to do around 1,000 bags a season making a fiver a bag doesn't really work.

around me if you take out the guys working for cash and the usual tree surgeons and gardeners my main competiion with the logs are

timber haualage contractors x2

garden nurseries also x2

timber management company

and several farmers

they can all afford to slash prices and break even on the logs not really an option for me.

Could you not under cut them if you bought timber standing then harvest it yourself?

If I went back to harvesting would be softwood and I don't really fancy life back in a caravan/portacabin been there and done that it's the safety net if everything else fails then I'll hide out in the woods. have an old harvester sitting there which could be fixed up enough for a start and the forwarder is still in decent condition although its old.

Ye I know what you mean I bought an old rat of a harvester a few years ago, to many issues with it so sold it to some Polish guy.

I'm just sticking to the chainsaw for now.

Had a look at your website some interesting machines from over the years

£85 cube or £150 for 2 cube. Well the body on the truck is 2 cube and i guess there is some air in there!

Thats delivered anywhere on the isle of wight but just tipped, dont do stacking any more. paid £50cm mixed hardwood delivered for 50 cube last autumn + 50 cube ish of tree surgery waste all hard wood seasoned below 20%.

We are about the cheapest on the island, not sure its worth the effort but it fills the wet days and brings some proper work in

Got the last half load going out tomorrow and we are all out for the season :-)
