Tree stump V Fence

Evening guys... Have a problem.

I have a tree stump where it has grown through and around a wire mesh fence. I have to put a new fence up, which means the removal of the stump. How do I go about this?

The stump is about 3ft (just above the fence height) and is 75% on my side, and 25% on the neighbours side with the fence going straight through the middle...

Cut the fence either side with something and then get a friend with a knackered chainsaw to remove the stump, unless you can cut underneath the fenceline?

Actually, once the fence is cut, could you try splitting the stump or putting a barrel over it and burning it out?

Old school is dynamite. Not so easy to get now.

Is it a wide stump? Is the wire to one side?

If your more concerned about getting the fence up, you could cowboy it and slice through then run fence through, then have sessions now and again in summer with an axe, or put mushroom dowels in to rot it quicker. If your fence is panels or post and rail wood type, put both sides up and patch round the stump then deal with it later. Cutting low to floor then stumpgrinder is quickest/easy option.

With this, I would expect to cut the wire side of the stump with a hydraulic stump grinder (no damage to grinder or teeth). When the wire fence has been cut away, cut the the remaining stump with a chainsaw as low as possible, carry on grinding to the desired depth.
