Can anyone tell me why my ms170 is belching fire out of the exhaust?

I have changed the fuel ratio, but doesn't seem to make a difference. The mesh over the exhaust is glowing and a jet of fire, perhaps 60mm cones out when it's been running a few minutes, any one know what's up?

Possibly running ultra rich - in burnt fuel coming out the exhaust?

What have you changed the fuel ratio to, and why?

Check the air filter is clean too, and remove that mesh!

my one did it when new does not belch flames any more but smoke comes out of it when i finish with it. was told its due to the cat on it and will improve with use. wait and see if it does mine is now 3 months old.

Its the Kat, all 3 of mine have always done it. They are all more than 2 years old now, and if mine are anything to go by- should make a sort of popping fizzing noise, accompanied with red hot glowing/flames once the revs have dropped down to idle. Was quite interesting in the dark the first few times it happened- but i am used to it now! Sure its quite normal- otherwise i have got 3 duff ones.
