as some of you may have read i recently bought an 084 from john p and i wish to get it up and running by the end of the month but am unsure as to exactly what to put in the tanks.

recommended by john i'm going to use aspen as the fuel ass it wont be used very often and it will apparently be better protected against ceasing up.

i don't know what oil to use though, after reading some old threads it seems like stihl 2 stroke red would be fine to use but any other suggestions will be well received.

i would also like to know where i can buy these products from.

Aspen2 uses a higher grade of oil than Stihl's Red 2-stroke and Aspen is approved by Stihl.

I use rapeseed oil, not had any issues ever. Some people say i can gum up the system but I'v only seen that when different oils have mixed (ie putting rape in after "proper" chain oil made chewing gum)

Pulled a 346 off the shelf a wee while ago that had been there for the best part of a year. Started on the second pull (Aspen...) but the chain was admittedly a little stiff. Gave it a push against a bit of wood, a couple of rev-blasts and it was free as a new chain.

Is Eco, you can lick up spills if needed.

Works well, chains move easily without heat build-up

Is Cheap! Paid £1.29/l from Lidls the other day, sure it can be had cheaper still.
