I love a big clean plate. Here is a couple of big Beech plates that I have sawn off today before the sap rises.

had to make do with a 441 with the 25" on. Could do with a 880 for ringing the butts up!

 

Could always float the butts up to Somerset for you?!

It was massive, That's my boss he's probably about 5'7. Was easily 20ft! Biggest one I've seen!

The golf course lost about 200 trees that year and all cut up with a little stihl 211 14" bar!

did it drop back down when you cut the butt? would have liked to have seen that if it did

We didn't get the job in the end, but spoke to the one of the guys that did it and yeh it slammed shut apparently!

Got asked today about log this poplar up for fire wood. But one hell of a root plate must stand a good 18 ft high and 30ft wide.
