plan of action?

im new to the arb, recon ill be fine climbing this robinia and riggin it( conservatory to the left at the side of the house you see!) but what would you recommend? clients sayin its too big, but they dont wanna loose it. where would you take it back to? heard robinias dont like pruning

have it out and get them to plant a proper british native tree: british trees for british people. Is that a frisia variety of robinia or just the standard? Loads of those robinias are full of compression forks/included bark and have a habit of dying before they reach maturity so a case could be made for replacement. from what i've heard they dont respond that well to pruning and they are a pain in the arse to work on (tight forks and spikes)

IMO FELL IT and replant, bloody horrible spikey crap. I thought if they are pruned, reduced they come back with vengence lots of shoots like eucalyptus do. I remember climbing one it was a right mess spikes everywhere including in me:mad1:

I'd take the left hand and right hand ones out altogether.

they respond well to pruning/topping/pollarding as in they dont die, lots of shoots though which will be a pain in future. prune to ground level
