I use an old 372, with inboard clutch, so not too bothered about the oil pump. To be honest, I don't think it would do the pump that much harm running with no oil in it.

The best would to have a dedicated saw on it permantly. But then for that cost I'd be tempted to look at one of those little motorised capstan winches

This is mine, variation on the same theme, used it a few times, handy piece of kit. I keep the power unit on it and have removed the drive to the oil pump so no oil running out.
