Climbing Kit - Is this good value?

Hi I'm new on here, am planning on doing my CS38 & CS39 later this year, basically I have got my groundie tickets and have done a fair bit of felling, last few years have been doing the odd dismantle, but telehandler buckets aren't very PC these days, so basically have been looking to get the kit first, is this kit a good place to start out?

any advice/comments would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

Try the harness first bud.

But basics would be

Helmet with eye ear defence and chin strap

Climbing rope. 25m 40/45m

Couple of prussic's. The longer the rope you can use both ends of the line

3 crabs (3way)

Lanyard around 5m + prussic + 2 crabs

Harness -try a couple on and hang around in it.

Definitely need to give the harness a try before purchasing. The one in the kit is a general sit harness rather than a specific tree work harness. The single central attachment can be restricting & too high for good balance when limb walking.

25m rope is not really enough, minimum top anchor for climbing assessment is 12m & will often be more (during training & assessment), 37m would be more practical for not a lot more money.

Talk to as many people & try as many harnesses as you can before spending your hard earned. Recommend putting together your own kit based on personal preferences & comfort, might cost a bit more but you will benefit long term.

My first kit I bought 45m rope cut 5 meters of for lanyard but I can splice myself so you might be best buying it spliced. Micro pulley for lanyard. Two krabs for lanyard

Then you need another krab for main line

Might be a good idea to get a hitch climber makes learning to climb easier

Then 10 meters of friction cord. Has so many uses
