Do any of you bother to take the blades off? I've always just done it on the machine. Just opened the throttle and let go again until the blades are in the right position to get the grinder in there, then off i go!

What type of disc do you use? Done mine with a dremel and small stone attachment before.

Just a normal grinding disc for a 6" grinder (although the one i use is worn down to only 2-3" diameter so its easier to handle)

used a grinder in past to do them but find a dremmel with a stone on is ideal as small so can do faces without taken it off machine also flat chainsaw file does a good job. a sharp cutter work so much better than a dulled encrusted one it slides easy. i also spray mine with gt85 to lubricate the blades and when finished cutting wipe blades off with a cloth and spray again so it stays clean.

Did mine the other day. thin disk on the angle grinder took me 5 mins tops easy peasy using a flat file by hand gets you nowhere just dont press on with the angle grinder :thumbup1:
