Aye is a bit pricey, might not have been tooooo bad when the pound was nice and strong but now :bored:

I bet with a windscreen motor(automatic bad movement) a good bench grinder (machine marts bestest :001_tongue:) and a bit of welding I could knock one together :001_rolleyes:

If I have it right it's only any good for single side blades and the blades slides on the plate, the plate doesn't move

your right again dean

although did a double sided one ages ago and just sat it on a nice bit of planed hardwood and did not cause any problemo

maybe not ideal but did the job

Father- in laws a joiner. Never paid to sharpen TW blades in the last 4 years. Attached in front of grinder he has a jig which is commonly available to wood turners etc. Blade sits on top of jig and is moved back and forth until across wheel. Works for me. Never had a problem with the chipper yet. Always make sure both blades are equally ground to same size.

Jig costs about £50/70
