Took this sycamore down. It had been topped out a few years ago by another "tree surgeon". The tree was full of wounds from torn/ripped cuts etc and decay was setting in. Client originally asked us in to "re-pollard":tongue_smilie:

There where loads of bad pruning cuts with tears and rips. A fair bit of decay was setting in and there where plenty of targets in neighbours garden (green house :scared1:) Best to "slick it" now. Overall crap tree :001_smile:

I'll read more carefully next time:blushing:. Sometimes thats what the customer wants doesn't make it right but what can you do?

Couldn't it have been reduced lower or even pollarded, sycamores regnarate well don't they.

I suppose it could have been reduced more but that would look crap. T be honest I didnt price the job as i just sub in but i think the main pressure was coming from the neighbour worried about his green house, grandchildren the light............... You get the picture :laugh1: He was a bit worried at first dont think the last lot inspired confidence but when he saw us rigging the tree down he relaxed :001_smile:

not sure what you mean by that?:confused1: Am i missing somthing:001_smile:

As said before the tree has never been pollarded, it was "lopped and topped" which is bad practice both asthetically and for the tree. As a result the tree was in poor health/condition and the neighbour was concerned seems pretty straightforward to fell the tree...........................:confused1:
