Which circular saw?

Ive often found that when used to full capicity the 235mm saws are really slow. When ive needed to cut big timbers, i normally use a smaller saw and cut from both sides. I know this is going against what other people are saying, but i have never had any problems doing it. Each to there own i guess.

I've got a festools which is absolutely brilliant especially with the guide rails. You can cut to depth so buzz through in a number of passes which means the same isn't under such a great load.

 

The evolution saws are good, they have an outlet shop on eBay where they cash out ex demo and refurbed kit. I've bought a few things from them and have had great service.

I've got a 250mm Hitachi. Think it's a cu90. It's a great saw, bought it from cash convertors for £50. Got a smaller skill saw bit it rarely comes out as the Hitachi is so nice to use.

Thanks for all the info guys, I did actually see a Hitachi saw of a similar size to the Makita in my nearest cash converters, a 110v one. It was only £31.00 but I wasn't sure about buying from those places as there's no way of knowing the history.

 

I can't afford a new one so I may give it a go.
