It aint the rug, its the claim for the death of a family from a house fire and i doubt your felling insurance would cover that.

 

Please give a link to one example of a fuel seller being held responsible for a spark from an open fire.

 

The easy answer is to sell your logs as "stove" fuel :biggrin:

Why ? Well if you sell firewood to the public and the public are always fast to pass the buck and your firewood spits and causes a fire and you did not state spark guards should always be used on a open fire as bluecoat has also stated so I think i'm correct in saying that you would be liable to a product liability claim from the buyers insurers. Be in no doubt the buyers insures will be looking for any scapegoat if the house is gutted by fire.

Dont ask me for proof, ask the Solid Fuel Association who insist i must have insurance because of the 100's of claims from domestic users each year. With this blame/claim culture anyone selling fuel should make sure they are covered for any eventuality from the use of their fuel.
