I thought the correct way to use a meter was to split the log and test on the freshly exposed surface. Anything else doesn't mean a right lot.

 

Everyone says ash burns well even when green. It burns a whole lot better when seasoned.

I say split and store under cover for the summer months.

here here ! but it appears anyone who dares question the ethics of selling unseasoned firewood is instantly attacked by the pack.

Those pictures maybe a accurate representation of the wood he was describing but then again how do we know for certain ? we are being asked to trust that they are, which is fine with me.

BUT what is not fine is the claim fresh cord can be split and sold as seasoned in a week !

This practice will only become more prevalent as the demand for biomass gathers pace.

At the end of the day as someone as said selling unseasoned logs as seasoned ready to burn could end up with the seller being open to a product liability claim.
