Stihl 051/075 how to tell the difference

Hi I have bought a big stihl saw I was told it was a 075

But I am not sure as there is no name tag on it

The trouble is it looks the same as a 051

It has no manual oiler or decompression button

I have listed it on eBay for sale and don't want anyone buying it by mistake

Is there any way of finding out what it is

I know it's a 1978. Model

Any help would be great

cylinder head on the 075/076 has 6mm studs that run all the way up to the top ie about 5" long and visible

The 051 has short 5mm bolts which only the heads are visible at the base of the cylinder.

Also the 075/076 normally have the manual oil pumper in front the handle whereas the 051 wont. They are the obvious differences.

The fuel tank on the 075/076 is slightly wider but unless you have another saw to compare it to its not to obvious as its only a few mm wider.

Get a pic up! :sneaky2: Or if your near Exeter I can have a look and soon tell you.
