362xp special

The 362XP was very popular in its day, as has been said it had the small bar pad and 3/8 chain as standard, it was a closed port cylinder, other than that is was much like a small 371/372 good secomd hand buy if you can find one.

Even better if you slam a 375k engine on it!

I managed to get one myself earlier this year wise! XPG too! Only downside is they never made outer dogs for it, and the stupid front-mounted tensioner!

Outer dogs must be similar to 357 as it uses the same bar mount I would think?

Also with minor filing elongating the holes out on a large mount 372 cover will fit and not look out of place that you don't notice unless you look hard :thumbup1:

The 362xp small mounts all came with .325 bar and chains

It could be possible the later large mount 362xp had 3/8 out the factory :confused1:

That top end may no be an improvement over the 71cc one, unless it is ported.

A 372xp clutch cover likely can fix the issues with the chain tensioner and outer dawg. Just remove the front tensioner and put it on. Check that the chain can move freely.

According to the 2002/3 catalogue , the 55,357xp,359 and 362xp could run 325 or 3/8 chain. Both bars were small mount with powermatch type bars only available in 3/8.

Was there ever a large mount option on the 362xp in the U.K ? :confused1:

Likely, at least in Europe - but anyway you can swap those things around as you like - it doesn't really matter what the saws originally came with.

Pro-lite bars for that application has "always" existed in 3/8", as well as Power Match + there are of course more sourses than just Oregon.

I believe the large mount 362xp saws really was a "US special", and really was the 372xp with a 362xp top end - but I have been wrong before....

It happened the year they attempted to replace the 372xp with the 575xp (2005).
