lay hedges in winter as can not do it in summer. same for fencing makes the job easier as ground soft unlike summer rather cut grass then and get a tan sitting on mower than burning up putting fences in. plant hedges in january as they grow better got a job coming up just needs to be cold to plant

fence all year round as said only trouble in the winter can be getting materials and machinery to the site if to wet mind you had that trouble with hedge laying last year

I didn't see a problem either but two different people though it was a bad idea.

Maybe they're so busy mending storm damaged fencing that they want to delay work until later.
