LOLER - what a pain in the bum. The most important part of it is checking your own kit daily before you go up a tree...I've been doing that for 20 years...I don't know anybody around here who actually does the weekly record..but a few that have mass form filling in sessions before a LOLER test etc. Also know a few LOLER inspectors who climb on kit/let their blokes climb on kit I wouldn't touch with a barge pole...hey ho....

It's not what you do, it's how you record it. For better or worse, thats how it is.

I'd rather have the check sheet all nicely filled in so that if there ever was an accident (please don't), I'm able to worry about the climber rather than worry about making sure the forms are retrospectively/fraudulently filled in. Especially as one of them is my son.

I agree though the daily check is more important as a climber but at the moment this doesn't need recording. It's a funny old world.

Prob gonna need to check mine for moth damage more than anything else.

As a side note anyone know why you have to use a mailon when using a n old school willans harness

It's due to the fact that it is under a three way load. Ie. the harness pulling left and right on the triangles and then you clip a krab to the mallion to anchor to. If you use to main lines you should have to mall ions or you'll be four way loading it. A krab should only be loaded two way. Hope this makes sense.
