Echo or Dolmar?

Given the chance which would you guys go for?

I have ordered an Echo CS-420ES but have been waiting 4 weeks for it and no sign yet. So I was looking at Dolmars website as I am going to Germany in a few weeks. My interest was piqued by some of the saws.

I know most here have a lot of good things to say about Dolmar but what I want to know is should I wait for my Echo or pick up a Dolmar?

Thanks all,

Marc.

Echo 420 is a good saw; very free revving, proper crankcase and will last forever. Which Dolmar you thinking of?

To be honest all of them!:001_smile:

Anything from the PS420 trough 115 to the 5105, the 115 and the 5105 I know are more money, and probably bigger than I need them to be, but they do look good.

I have ordered the Echo for £296, which is a pretty good price. So any Dolmar around that price would be a contender I guess.

Nice to hear the Echo is a good saw though.

Thanks,

Marc.

Well the PS5105 is off its head as per multiple other dolly threads at the mo!

The 115i is old but brilliant design, so solid and a great performer; I had one and it was just superb, injection choke was a one off and worked ace but if it broke was a pain. I'll get another tidy one one day. Way ahead of its time in power output terms. Real character saw.

I love echo saws because they are kioritz and a kioritz 2 cycle was THE best unit on the planet. Yamabiko merged echo and shindaiwa which is producing some interesting saws. How about this modded 550!!!

Has anyone ported a 115?

Must drag mine out of the shed and give it a run.
