as title says, chain is snapping just behind chisel, coincidentally snaps at the same point along plank being cut. chains are only lasting approx 2 months before failure. 36" bar on 660, any tips for using logasol, do you guys put a wedge in behind saw to take the weight of plank? how often do you sharpen ?

yes,yes yes yes and yes. wedge as you go, every 3ft or so depending on you thickness of plank. that woodis putting some serious weight on the bar and slowing you down.

again, depending upon what length your cutting and type of wood, sharpen every 2 or 3 boards.

how much timber are you cutting in that 2 month, and are you using an M7, or timberjig setup, and is it the logosol bar and pmx chain setup you are using

Besides what has already been mentioned, are you seeing a lot of blueing/overheating of the cutters and the guide bar ? Things get very hot ? What chain oil do you use, logosols own is a lot better for milling than some of the others
