Spiderjack 2.1

I have just purchased a Spiderjack 2.1. I went to have a climb with it today and realized that my new england rope has a plastic bit on the plain end and won't fit through the hole on the spiderjack.

If i cut it off will my rope fail the loler test? I don't want to have to undo the spiderjack every time I want to use it.

Cheers

Ed if u want it on there ur gunna have to take it apart to pop it on, then just keep it on. If it a long rope and u wanna use a prussic for example use the other end of the rope keeping the SJ at the base of the tree. Otherwise u will have to open it up each to take off

Depends on the loler inspector, I wouldn't fail it for having no markings, I would find it helpfull if you retained it and presented it to me explaining the reason you removed it.

A loler inspector could choose to fail it on the fact it has no unique marking or tracability.

The tag on the tail of the rope is usually a batch number, the serial number is usually on the one at the spliced end. Not having a batch number isn't a tragedy. If the tail end tag does have the serial number just move it to the spliced end with a bit of new shrink tube (as others have said)
