Avant on the cheap?

I put feelers out a coupla a months ago to 2 local dealers for a fresh high tip dumper for this very reason.

Except I intend to connect a small ex agricultural 3 point linkage mounted forklift up-front.

Dammn!!

Did you have any luck finding a donor Difflock? See there is a couple at Wilsons Auctions in Dublin. No idea what they will go for. Would be a longish drive for disappointment!

No luck yet, might need to chase up.

Awaiting delivery (tomorrow, hopefully) of my Rotabroach Panther, which will allow me to drill holes up to 40mm dia., so was in no rush.

And yes I were sniffing around Wilsons auctions stuff.

But I am not good at buying at auction.

This just got updated on the Ce Forum but is so relevant here I thought it worth sharing?

 

Fair play the guy who did the original brilliant conversion has run with it and ironed out the creases plus added a bit more.

 

Basically he was unhappy with the tilt available using the linkage system, plus the additional height that it added.

He's now done the most simple tweaks to utilise the standard Tip ram brought to face forward, plus added a log beak to finish her off.

 

He's utilising a simple lever changeover valve from beak to tilt, but this could be switched out to 12v diverter with no issues to control it all from the seat.

 

His take on it is 600KG no issues without any additional rear weight, and a few minutes back to dumper.

 

Plenty on here would make use of one I'm certain, and they're now creeping down to 3.5k for nice ones, with pretty much zero running costs being so tried and tested now.

What would it do in terms of a straight 'upwards' lift say onto a trailer (green arrow)? What I can't visualise is how it would do that. Wouldn't the forks go backwards towards the machine as it lifted and pivoted (blue arrow)? That may be a dullard question for your fabrication gods but I can't see it??!!??

Good question, I don't have the answer why not, but it doesn't go back in particular due to the geometry?

They need to keep forward reach to tip over skip sides in their normal role.
