Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Ive never said thousand pounds i said id have charged about 400plus vat for the op on his discription that would be 2 men and chipper. It was the person who commented after me making up things saying how much that would add up to. You dont get alot for thousand quid these days though. We charge fair prices and we get the work most of the time even if we are more expensive. People are willing to pay for a good service. Dont under value your selfs :thumbup1:

Hello,

I value my clients and want to keep them happy.

I would consider double time plus travel at same rate to be fair.

A client is likely to view this as normal for a tradesman.

In an emergency, people pull together and a professional gesture such as not overcharging or even doing it for your normal rate for an important client 'may' pay dividends in the future.

Regards

Second Ty, any imp can put a silly price in but if you value your customer put a inflated but semi sensible price on it. If you put a large price on it and they ask for a break down of costs you could easy trip your self up....and hand the business to the competition.

If a regular customer called me late at night with a problem like this I would if I could go and sort it out, if it was something where it would require more work IE a limb off a tree and now the tree needs to come down I would add something into that cost to cover the call out, depending how long I had been out at night. But if the call out was for someone I didn't class as a customer then I would tell them on the phone before I went out that it is £100 for the call out and £50 per hour per man to deal with whatever needed doing.
