Tree flex loosening off

Hi all,

As mentioned above my harness loosens off - quite drastically at times - and obviously with a saw attached the looseness is increased a lot. I've lived

with it for a while now, but wondered if anyone has any ideas to remedy the problem, particularly anyone that climbs with a tree flex.

At times the waist tightening straps have gone right back to the buckle on the relevant side (RHS usually the worst, probably due to the saw)

I was under the impression that the "double buckle" type arrangement in which the straps run through prevented them from loosening off once pulled tight, unless

Lifted with the little webbing tabs.

The legs straps also loosen off quite a bit.

Any thoughts / insights, thanks in advance.

Yep same problem have had my flex for a few years now.Not going to start trying to find a fix and to be honest I shouldn't have to and it's not the cheapest harness around.

It might be a call to see what they say.

Apart from this annoying thing I must admit it is a really good comfi harness but may be time for a change.

I agree there, Love the harness but it's a bit of a worry and an annoyance having to pull it back up off my arse halfway through a climb. May look at a new one eventually, but it's only 6 months old. Seems to be a bit of a common problem, do other harnesses suffer the same?

It was ever thus, short of a full body harness, where the weight of the saw is going to make the straps dig into your shoulder there isn't much you can do.

The hitch climber helps if you clip the saw into the spare attachment point.

Get the two side adjustments where you want them and the sew them up with whipping twine, the front adjustment just needs tightening every now and again...

thanks tom hadnt thought of doing that but those side straps dont really need to ever move, will try that.
