Stolen equipment in Gloucestershire

My brothers secure storage site was broken into in Gloucestershire over the weekend. 36 items of Stihl equipment was taken, ranging from climbing saws to hedge trimmers. Every piece of equipment had been etched with the letters "TM" followed by number. Please, if anyone is offered anything with this identifying mark on it could you get in touch? I know it's a long shot but anythings worth a try, right?

Luckily, the generosity of a couple of local tree companies has helped see them through yesterday and the replacement kit starts arriving today. Beefed up security is being fitted as I write this, apparently 24 hour manned security wasn't enough!

This is the third such theft in this area in the last couple of weeks so please let it be a reminder to us all that unless we go to unusual lengths to protect our property it stands a high chance of becoming someone else's property.

Thanks all for taking the time to read this.

Was it an inside job, Given that there was supposed to be 24 hour manned security?

Very sorry to hear about the theft.

No, unfortunately they only had one man on at night and the facility is huge. They didn't enter through the front door either, they left a clear trail of the path they took including a huge hole in the perimeter fence.

As for the haul, it's in excess of £18000.

Sounds like the same group who did us a few weeks ago same type of theft, I bet they only took Stihl power tools leaving virtually everything else. And I bet they really did make a nice clear route for themselves.

In our yard they took time to cut barb wire and clear all the trash very thoroughly to make a nice clear route.

We are Oxfordshire/Berks border I would not be surprised if it is the same group.

Hi Marc, I think it's highly likely it is the same people. There has been a spate of break in's of this nature around this part of the world in the last few weeks. It would appear that they hit an area then move on to the neighbouring counties. Luckily, only Stihl equipment went, not the chippers or trucks.

I hope your insurer sorted you out quickly.

Sorry to hear that mate. Must be the same people who nabbed all my kit. I hope someone catches them at it soon. It's seem they will only take quality tools and leave everything else. The only thing that PC plod could find in my container was size 7 and 9 muddy trainer prints. He told me it's not the work of a gypo it's to well planned and they would of taken everything not just specific tools. My dad's amg alloys with brand new winter tyres where left which where worth more than what they stole. Hope you get everything sorted
