Has anyone tried one?

 

I know the Cut and Climb is da bomb, but I fancy something with a hood that is 100% waterproof. Breathability is unimportant as I am quite happy to stand and do nothing.

These are made of Flexothane, whatever that is.

 

About £65.

Engelbert strauss do a rain jacket made of that stuff and it's a real good fit too. Bargin at about £30, it's got a hood and keeps you 100% dry......especially if you're doing nothing 😀. I'll try and find a link......

Used to work for a firm that had those straus jackets and trousers. Seemed ok, bit hot and sweaty as are most jackets but they seemed to hold up well.

 

Mark, what happened to your waterproof smock?

God knows, it has just given up being waterproof. I washed it with reproofer this week which didn't work.

Might try spray on reproofer before I give up on it.

 

I'm sick of paying top dollar for 'waterproof and breathable'. I don't believe it exists!

ive got an old one you can try if you want mate, its about 8 years old and has a weird smell about it

I still don't believe the hype about breathable. As far as I can see you either get wet from the rain outside or your own body fluids from inside if you are working in a jacket. Best bet is a change of clothes and a jet boil of coffee on a cold wet day.
