Drinking before going out to use the chipper?!

Very wise IMO. Chippers can be dangerous so it's good to build up some courage first.

:lol::lol:

Never drink on or before the job! I was referring to get yourself a glass of red and read the thread on micro chippers.

For me it's 'rose' and the little 100

Afternoon Men

have you tried a Haecksler Chipper?

you can see them working on you tube - search for Haecksler vario

just as good as a CS 100 but 2/3 the price

Now Jim, machines like the CS100 or Jo Beau cost what they do for a reason. Oh, and they are better than the Haecksler too.

Well i have seen and used a new Haecksler a couple of months back.

My mate bought one from Jim and yes it very good and has it's place in the market for sure, but it is not as good as a CS 100 (i run the older GMR100) as i have tried one of these too.

Would i consider a Haecksler chipper ? yes if i was doing smaller pruning/garden type jobs, but as i tend to do alot of larger diameter stuff i favor the Greenmech for anything up to 4'' and anything bigger gets hit with the big Bearcat chipper.

Fair play lads,

everybody has got their preferences

The Haecksler is not a 6" Chipper, but 3.5 - 4 inch no problem

it is highly manoeuvrable and all round it has to be said its a quality bit of kit

Horses for courses I suppose.... one does this slightly better, the other does that slightly better, it would be interesting to try all 3 out together at the pro arb show this year then discuss the finer points at the Bear in Esher over a couple of cold ones

I agree the Jo beau and the Greenmech are both good machines.

Have you seen the new H4 ?
