Video: Making Money: Sawmill : The New YorkerAfter Hurricane Sandy, New York City was littered with thousands of downed trees. Hundreds of those ended up at RE-CO BKLYN, a Brooklyn-based sawmill that was operating out of a small lot in Williamsburg. The company—run by Roger Benton and Dan Richfield—collects trees from landscapers, the Parks Department, and landfills, and turns many of them into high-end furniture.

Wicked video there, funny cos were still dealing with the odd bit of timber from out last hurricane back in the 80's!!

out of interest with those that came down in the 87 storm did they have the shakes when milling them heard reports that they were splitting when milling and snapping blades. and a lot of timber went to waste due to timber yards not wanting timber

From the internet forecasts today, it sounds as though a hurricane might cross the south on Monday..........

Interesting bit on the radio today apparently it's not a hurricane unless it's in the Pacific or North Atlantic and remains east of the international dateline so whatever we get is just wind :laugh1:
