I think technically the correct splice for the non poly core armor prus is a class 2. But saying that I know people that do a "modified class 1" whatever that means.

One's for a poly core - the other is for 'exotic' core materials.

Basically class 2 for high mod fibres that are super slippy as far as I can understand. Some of them can be locking brummel splice with exposed eyes too.

Oh rite so are you saying I should have used the class 2 splice? I was told class one by my boss?? Confused :-/!!

Technically would be class 2 but people do a class 1 on it too.. Welcome to the murky world of splicing

I made one from 8mm sirius and it was really nice. Until I misplaced it somewhere Pretty easy stuff to splice and plenty tough enough for footlocking.

I tried splicing using various fid things and didn't get along well with it, in the end I stole a few wires from a mates piano and it made the whole process a total breeze in comparison!

Looking good 👍, what are the implications of a DIY splice when it comes to loler? Have always wanted to give it a go but worry it's against h and s or something , also...is there any particular way to stitch once the splice is finished? I may have a play some time
