Best way is to buy new from a dealer off here, I don't touch ebay stuff now as its either knackered or nicked.

Not all knicked or knackered.... I sell all my mid range saws after a year as they are out of warranty. When you have several lads using them they get grief as they not there,s , so ebay is where they go....................

when i first started up ebay was my preferred shop.

not all knackered, and not all nicked.

our rayco stumpy was bought off there, came with full history.

what i always do is print off the ebay advert showing me as the winning bidder, that way, if it does turn out to be stolen, i'm covered, and can prove who i bought it off so the police ( if they're bothered), can chase up.

i also get the seller to sign the receipt and put the serial no. of the item on there.

i wouldn't take much for stihl to start a database of serial no.s up but as a lot of kit is insured new for old its not really in their interest.

A saw and pole cutter have gone walkies that I had serviced/ported in the past. I regularly look out for them on ebay but they haven't turned up to date.

Both had some distinctive mods I had done hence me looking!

I think the stolen kit gets pushed around under the radar as far as I can tell!

Cheers Steve. Appreciate it :thumbup1::thumbup1:
