OK, thank you for all the suggestions - we ended up torn between an Echo 420 and the husky 365 and went for the husky because it was just more familiar to us. Please don't tell me we have bought a duffer - we got the 18inch bar to whip through the poplar on our (ahem) plantation. They're a great saw, you should get years of use out of it

If it's clean poplar and that is a new XT, it will pull full chisel on a 24" bar through poplar all day no problem.

bought one a couple of weeks back 1st outing out with it on 24inch bar on 20inch willow stumps and ripped through it just got a 18inch bar for it 1sthuksy ive owned and used and i'm well pleased by it all i canfault harder to start using the decomp valve so dont used it and just start it without starts easy and quicker

Nothing wrong with your choice, good saws, pretty bullet proof and should last a long time.
