Stobarts slashed their Woodchip prices!

Got 56 tons of Woodchip due for collection tomorrow and our friends at Stobarts now tell me the price has been slashed to £3 per ton!

 

Over a barrel springs to mind!

 

I tried Boomeco Biomas about a month ago but they didn't return my calls then answered email with lost my number and would be in touch - but never heard back.

 

Is there anyone else in the market place other than the above pirates?

I can offer a free tip site if you need to get rid of clean chip anywhere near Ingatestone. I know it doesn't solve your problem now but it may help in the future.

That's kind of you thanks but our chip is mixed chip and leaf, if it were just clean chip I could offload to local Biomas boilers which I think we may have to consider separating where possible for future.

That's fine for us. When I say clean chip, I just mean chip that doesn't have a load of rubbish in it. Regular chipped arb waste is fine as we just use it as mulch on the estate.

Does not help at the moment but when the new dryer is installed we will be in the market for chip and paying better prices than that.

Install a small CHP and use own chippings. Seen in Finland villages with district heating plant.

Does that mean people might slow down chipping stuff we can make into kindling. I might actually be able to buy joinery off cuts for less than £20 a tonne again

they do pay more to but as it down to the spec and arb waste is not the best

Yeah not to mention the £10 in cherry for the tele the wear and tear and the hour it takes of your time. The bill for the scratch on their trailer you may get £70 gross if your lucky.
