Not doubting you at all but was it in a ditch or something, those trees next to it arent much smaller and I wouldnt say they were 100 footers.

 

those trees are so much closer, look where the stem of the fir is, angle of the camera and all that. that tree is identical to one my dad took down 20 years ago or more. the split top and everything, and it was over 100feet high. she is a big girl alright:001_smile:

i reckons it one of monkeyd set up pics with his kids toys!! :) the tree is actually a pot plant and that is a model railway figure in foreground!!!

 

 

Who said anything about them being my kids toys :confused1:

Was it a straight fell, Cordwood?

 

Yeah it was a straight fell, it had quite a lean on it so the owner's were a bit worried about it, as other tree's which had been sheltering it had blown down in the storm's last winter.

 

The camera angle doesn't really help with guessing the height. It wasn't in a ditch but was a good 20 feet back from the oak's in the picture.
