And your point.... I'm not saying jap pickups aren't capable of towing through fields, you clearly do a lot of long distance towing, so they are better suited for you.

I haven't been on a dual carriageway towing for a year, my landrover spends more time working off road then on, I believe its the best pickup on offer for the job.

As I say you buy a vehicle to suit your needs.

I think reading your post you said everything other than a Landrover is crap. Which will annoy some people but have the rest of us rolling around on the floor.

It's that 4.2 I'm after; had one in an old E-reg landcruiser and it was sweet; not that pokey in atmo form; the turbo they put in the later VX - yumm yumm!

I have an old Td5 van which needs replacing so in exactly the same position. I am looking at riping the seats out of the year 2000 family Amazon and turning it into a van. 24k cheaper than a new Disco 4 same on fuel and still more reliable.

Ha, no wasn't saying they're crap just wouldn't buy one if my work evolved lots of long distance travelling, my work is mostly off road so they are perfect for me.

Do like the look of the Toyota land cruiser pickup. I'd defo have one of them.
