Found this little gem today started first pull too :) seriously meaty for such a small saw!!

 

Worlds first 6lb chainsaw and it was a performer, they also made a chain brake version.

 

If only Black & Decker hadn't of bought McCulloch they might have still been a pro saw company.

 

I worked for them [McCulloch that is] for 12 years. After we bought the company back from B&D.

Gonna get her cleaned up and serviced she's been locked in a garage for 30 years so probably due one! Any idea what power these produce? For a small saw this thing tears through timber

I would love see pro McCullochs again; always had a soft spot for the old stong Macs...

 

yes same here jon i love the sound and the power of them i got a 10-20 and a 10-20 automatic both saws are great fun and the best one which is a beast is a pro mac 850 :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

The 100 series saws, mini mac, 100, 110, 120 and 130 were known as bucket saws and were £79.99 retail homeowner saws, simple design there are many still in use today, less is more.

 

The Mac 6 was in a different class, compare its power against a modern saw !

Gonna chuck a carb kit in her as its a tad furry! It's a phenomenal bit of kit for its size and it so simple to strip down, she's a bit grubby and the mufflers solid with carbon so she's gonna be amazing after a clean up!
