I have one at present, it has cost me an arm and a leg! The usual Disco 2 problems with ABS, Traction Control etc (3 Amigos). When it rains hard the transmission goes into 'limp home mode' (handy on a 4 x 4) BUT when its running its great. You need to get them re-mapped and the EGR valve blanked off or they are gutless.

Mozza on here is your man, I think his maybe for sale too.

Cheers mate.

Yeah I've had mine since last Xmas, it's been good. Had the ABS sensor break but we fitted a new one and its been fine since. Drives nice and smooth, is really comfy, fits LOTS of gear in it, tows really well, I am thinking of getting rid, more subby work keeps coming up that's further afield and doing lots of miles in the disco soon eats into the day rate!

I can email pictures and spec if anyone's interested?

Cheers

I'd agree there is a difference in the motors, having had both early and late versions in the defender. However, in the discovery, I don't think the jump in price to the face lifted (52 reg onwards) would be justified simply for the smoother running later version.

I also would say with an auto, the differences would be virtually unnoticeable.
