is ten ton enough?

would think it should split most wood my splitter gets stopped some times on a real knotty ring, i usually just run the saw through any the splitter wont do

Hycrack screw type splitter? I think they are around 700 new, but i have yet to find a log that they wont split. Mind your fingys tho'!

My Dad will be selling them soon, I think a 13tonner will be just around the £1k mark though. Good machines by the looks of them, I'll post details when I can.

you can usually get adapters to make machinery work on different tractors if you have a hydraulic specialist near by they willbe able to advise

'Dowty' fittings were the older type - about 1.25 inches diameter. The appliance end has a threaded fitting with four alloy lugs on it.

 

The newer "quick fit" links are like a bigger version of an airline and are supposed to make life easier by just pushing together but can be an absolute pig if there is any residual pressure in either side of the hydraulics.

 

Either way, you can get an adapter made up for a couple of quid so it is not a show stopper whatever mix of fittings you end up with.
