Slack tending Prussik

Only been climbing about 8 months so far, going well but looking for ways to make it aBit easier. I just climb on a Prusik,'which I like because of its simplicity. However just been looking at the slack tending Prusik and wondered what pulley or device I would need to set this up? All the pulleys etc confuses me! Would this also work on a blakes? Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance

i did something similar to this for a while before i moved on to my hitch climber, the only thing i'd say is you really have to use a cambium saver for it to work properly, really handy for coming back in off long branch walks, i just used a basic little isc pulley under the prusic and a ropeman to hold it up, think your man uses a tibloc in the video:)

You can simply sit a pulley under the pussik using a karabiner to act as a fairlead. However on a normal prussik loop this can be a bit clumsy and inefficient.

Its better to go over to the hitch climber pulley system using a Ocean Polyester eye 2 eye or similar using a Valdotain Tresse (VT) or a Knut acting as the friction hitch. This can be seen on this video:

A variation of this is the O Rig system which there are posts on here about but see:

Then a tibloc? Could you please explain the krab fair lead way please? Have looked at the vt set up before, something I going to consider :) thanks for the help guys, and like I said thinking about moving to a blakes

You can do as I did and just use a piece of boot lace/throw line tied like a prussic in place of the tiblock, works exactly the same way just a lot cheaper. I would suggest going straight for the hitch climber instead though, I thought the same as you and did what your thinking about doing but didnt use that setup for long as its a little fiddler than it seems an couldn't get the hang of it. Would never go back on the hitch climber with vt now, so much simpler and as long as there is enough rope weight it tends slack it's self
