So I'm trying to find out what might have caused a large established beech to have died. Was fine last year apparently but this year failed to come into leaf?

I've been searching for possible causes but not getting far. Can any one throw some ideas this way?

Sorry, no pics at the moment!

:confused1:

Is there any kind of root fungus/disease that could cause sucha sudden decline?
