I'm in north Aberdeenshire. The nearest one is in Banchory which is quite a hike for me. The stihl dealer is a miserly old sod, i've bought expensive machinery from him in the past and not even a wiff of a discount!

Some ten years ago I was asked to supply a woodland environment/forestry site for Echo to do a photo shoot for their brochure. We spent a day with their photographer and played with the saws. One was a 5500 and the other was their little top handle unit which I filed away as a nice little saw.

I was presented with the 5500 at the end of the day and I still use it as my all-round saw.

They are Husky/Stihl dealers in Bogie street (road down to the station from town centre) 01466 792821 not the biggest discounts but you will get some and hold most of the range in stock

No, hadn't come across them. I'm not too far from Huntly, Tarves/Meldrum area. I'll look them up tomorrow

 

 

Your not a million miles away from me. I have an older 261 if you want to try it and a 560xpg that should give you an idea of the 550 the offer is there if you want it:thumbup1:
