Bought 2x ms201

Bought 2x ms150

Won't name and shame but a stihl dealer in County Durham

About 2 months ago, firstly one if the ms 150 wouldnt start, took it back at my expense, they couldn't fix it, so offered me a replacement but didnt have stock so another return journey

About 3 weeks of using 201 back handle, wouldn't run, took it back again at my expense, went to collect at my expense after been told it was dirt in carburettor, and £15 bill, bear-in mind it's had less than 5 tanks through it, used a chipper saw

Within 20 mins of using the ms201 repaired saw that's still in warranty it packs in again

They have no had it 5 weeks, saying they are waiting for a gauze that must go in carburettor , a stihl dealer

I'm meticulous about the quality of file mix and cleanliness of filler caps

we have had a similar problem with saws packing up but our local dealership helped us out a treat sorted it all out no problem and said we are not the only ones but it is down to bad petrol

Could understand if it was bad fuel but it don't seem to affect any other saws or hedge cutters etc

Thats disgusting. I would contact stihl direct or go to another dealer. I have bought saws of Justin and other suppliers and had them repaired by another dealer within the warranty. No questions asked all they did was check the warrantry and got on with the works. I had mine back with 3 days from the carb going a bad to. Back using it.
