Hi all,

Been asked to have a stall at a local nature reserve festival promoting woodland crafts etc.

Usual stuff, take the Alaskan, couple of log splitters etc.

Going to get some A5 leaflets printed up, company advert on one side and advice for buying logs on the other.

Got the advert side laid out ok but can't think what to put on the other 'advice' side.

Already got the usual: Buy by volume not weight, get a moisture meter......

Other than that what else could i put ?

Thanks in advance, Dave

stovax stove pipe thermometer most important

eco fan well worth it.

logs cut and split for 2 seasons at least.

how to tell how long a log has been cut and split

logs should be 10" long and 4" square/triangle for best drying and burning, re FC guide.

for best economy and heat efficiency get a decent stove as opposed to none air tight cheap versions.

have your logstore with vehicular access , not around the back

find the graph of moisture content vs heat production. wood fuel wales i think.

do it one side costs a bomb double sided and never look at back keep it to the point. and make it stand out so it makes them look at it. i have a good design guy who works for a printing company i say what i am looking for and he does the art work. so find one of them and let him do his or her tricks what they do you may not have thought of.

Have a look at Robin Wood's site, he does bowls on a pole lathe and makes wooden spoons and stuff here I've met him a couple of times and bought a Frost Mora knife from him to do some whittling. Get some sticks and make some gypsy flowers (google it), simple enough once you get the hang of it and look very effective. I do spoons from Birch and Sycamore and my missus and I use them in the kitchen. Here's a few of mine, all used at home.
