Not reportable, but did you know that its not the Beetle which causes the death of the tree, the tree commits suicide.

 

Yes, but it does not do that to combat the beetle, its the fungus the beetle carries that the tree is trying to kill, but the tree dies first.

 

Or at least thats my understanding.

Yep thats it , I was going to go into a big story about that , its the trees reaction to the Bactria , shutting down the Xylem and Ploem cells which kills the tree. I like that bit, sort of sticking two fingers up to the Elm bark beetle in defiance . :thumbup1:
