Ibex

Whats peoples views on the Ibex? Whilst I like all types of 4x4s, especially boxy ugly ones, I cannot see the point in spending a lot of money on an expensive Land Rover and then giving it to Foers and paying then even more money to make it in to, in my eyes, a smaller less versatile vehicle!! I know they are more agile off road with shorter approach and departure angles and have a clever winch but how often are you going to use those attributes?

Aren't they Spanish?

I think you are thinking of Santana.

In terms of Ibex, I'm not personally convinced that they are worth their money. You would have to be doing some pretty extreme off-roading to notice any benefit over an equivalent Defender, and could spend a lot less money chopping a Defender about to match the Ibex's abilities. However, if money were no object I'd be tempted by one!

I recognise that ibex, that's down at coquet shore base??

Well it was in the car park beside Amble marina when I saw it.

I considered an ibex instead of rebuilding my 110 but aside from the fact they are fugly, at £8k for the basic shell I couldn't see any benefits unless I had to buy a lot of new body panels to get the defender up to scratch, and the resale value will be crap compared to the defender.

Also all the body panels are glued on which is ok until you bend it.
